Responsibilities

▪ Measuring the performance of mechanical components, devices and engines.

▪ Agreeing budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers.

▪ Maintaining and modifying equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable and efficient.

▪ Using computer-aided design / modeling software.

▪ Liaising with suppliers.

▪ Undertaking relevant research.

▪ Producing and implementing designs and test procedures.

▪ Presenting designs to managers and clients.

▪ Testing, evaluating, modifying and re- testing products.

▪ Writing reports and documentation.

▪ Providing technical advice.

▪ Analysing and interpreting data.

▪ Undertake mechanical design and consultancy work including systems design, production, specifications and schedules; provide reports and advice. Liaise with other design team members internal and external, represent the business at meetings.

Requirements

▪ B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum).

▪ 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within the medical device industry.

▪ Experience with mechanical engineering design ( Solidworks ) in multidisciplinary projects (plastic and silicon injection molding and electronic packaging design – an advantage).

▪ Experience in transfer to production and production support (Work Instructions, BOM, jigs and fixture design, molds, etc.).

▪ Write technical documentation.

▪ Strong proficiency in English (speaking, reading and writing).

▪ Knowledge of design for cost / manufacture methodology and technology.
