Hardware Engineer – Medical Devices

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to join our team at a Medical Devices Company. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of digital circuits, from conceptualization to final product. You will optimize the Bill of Materials (BOM) and collaborate with vendors and hardware suppliers to implement new designs. Additionally, you will provide technical support to production and quality assurance teams, lead product improvements in mass production, and adhere to industry-standard processes and procedures. Your responsibilities will also include writing system requirements, specifications, and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing digital circuits, overseeing the entire process from concept to product.
• Optimizing the Bill of Materials (BOM) for efficient production.
• Collaborating with vendors and hardware suppliers to implement new designs.
• Leading the development process from marketing specifications to mass production.
• Providing technical support to production and quality assurance teams.
• Designing, simulating, developing, and testing board/system-level improvements for mass production.
• Creating system requirements, specifications, and reports.
• Following industry-standard processes and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Proven expertise in High-Speed Board Design and Digital Circuit design.
• Experience with Multi-layer PCB Layout design, including design reviews and Signal Integrity (SI) knowledge.
• Familiarity with interacting with PCB fabrication houses and assembly houses for hardware builds.
• Leading board and system bring-up activities and collaborating with other engineers to ensure product functionality.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Altium, ORCAD, and Allegro (Schematics and Layout).
• Hands-on experience with Electrical Laboratory Equipment.
• Working knowledge of Simulator tools (Spice) is advantageous.
• Experience in EMC/EMI testing in certification laboratories is a plus.
• Previous work experience in the medical industry is advantageous.
• Knowledge of medical standards is a plus.
• Experience in high-speed design, including Ethernet, DDRx, MIPI, and LVDS interfaces, is advantageous.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.
